FFTC Invests in local runners
The First Flight Track club brought Prompt Physical Therapy and Performance to the beach to provide personalized running performance analyses for local students and the public. This organization owned by Paul Wilson specializes in helping runners improve performance and overcoming injuries. Wilson has a doctorate in physical therapy and has a history of helping runners nationwide. While here, he conducted two full days of clinics for student athletes at FFHS, FFMS, MHS and adults. His assessments and recommendations will make a big difference in the running of Outer Bankers looking to reach their full running potential. We are looking forward to seeing the results of his recommendations for both students and adults!
A big thank you to Outer Banks Sports Club for graciously providing facilities and all of our sponsors for subsidizing this venture to make it possible. Carolina Designs Realty and Jim Rose specifically donated to make this initiative possible!
Coach Dan Murray was instrumental in setting up this connection. He has long had a theory that part of the talent of the Outer Banks running community has to do with the barefoot lifestyle and the amount of time that our kids spend running on sand. Paul, who has examined thousands of feet in his career, confirmed that this theory may have merit after seeing our runners!
